    Zuma Pete Skelton

We are crazy- On October 24th, we mt the newest love of our lives, Zuma (yes, definitely named after the Chocolate Lab on Paw Patrol). Zuma is a Chocolate Lab. On November 2nd, we weighed in at 25 pounds! He has the cutest white marks on the bottom of his front paws ans he has gorgeous green eyes. We love him to pieces and Derby does, too. He was born August 18th (a week before Roan!) and is the sweetest, smartest little guy.

    Welcoming Roan Niles

Our daughter, Roan Niles Skelton, was born on August 26th, 2021, at 7:02 AM (the exact same time as her brother). She weighed 7.8 pounds and was 19 inches long. It has been a magical 7 weeks of loving on her. I’m so happy to show off her newborn pictures, taken by Lindsay Konopa Photography. Hair and Makeup is by Julia Wadsworth.

    Honoring Our Boomer

Two weeks ago, we said goodbye to our sweet Boomer. I was hoping to find the right words to let our friends and family know about her passing by now, but it’s still proving hard to know how to say what she meant to us and we are still feeling our loss every day. She lived an amazing life and we are so thankful that she chose us to be a part of it. No matter the obstacle, her happiness never wavered. Boomer was the sweetest, smartest, most loyal, gentle, and kind girl. She was always willing to snuggle up and she knew who loved her and was sure to…

    Perfect Pumpkin Picking

Fall feels with our nosy little boy- Daniel and I loved watching Lake at the pumpkin patch last weekend. He is so curious; he stares down every new person he sees and takes it all in as he listens, watches, and learns. You can see the gears moving as he observes a new environment. We loved picking out some fun pumpkins for our front porch at Kent’s Cucubis in Brookston, IN. It was a nice selection of both perfectly round and wonderfully weird pumpkins, plus the weather was gorgeous on a Sunday evening. We walked through their beautiful sunflower field and enjoyed a rare night all to ourselves. My dress…

    How Football Made Me

From when I was born all the way up until my senior year of high school, every other fall Saturday was spent rising in the dark morning and driving down to West Lafayette, Indiana from Michigan to watch the Boilermakers. We had the dark years, we had the Joe Tiller years, we gained Hope and more than once we lost hope. I’ve watched the team change hands and I’ve watched the team change uniforms. I was a tiny elementary school girl standing in line to meet players like Drew Brees and Vinny Sutherland and I was a high school kid standing in line to meet players like Dustin Keller and Kory Sheets. Then, when…

How Disney World is Even Better as an Adult

My family first packed me into the car at 18 months old. I knew all of the characters’ names from watching and memorizing The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. From that trip forward, I was a Disney World girl. I cherished the short thrills on rides that I earned from standing in long lines. I collected autograph books and hugged Mickey and Minnie as my mom took pictures. I knew how to get around the Magic Kingdom before I knew how to get around my own hometown. You might think that Disney World loses its magic as you grow up, but it doesn’t. The magic simply changes. Just…
