About Zarah

As a high school English and journalism teacher, I speak all day about writing with passion. But to teach, you have to DO. A few years ago, I created my site so that I could write about the fun topics that interest me, as well as keep my family and friends updated on my year as Mrs. Indiana 2016. I like to write about colorful, silly, and sparkly life things and I found this to be a perfect creative outlet. I like to show readers a glimpse into my life and to share funny stories and big moments.

As time went on and the site grew, I started sharing my style as well and I found that I love showing people my outfits, as I have always had a passion for clothes. I enjoy incorporating style into the blog, and sharing my personal fashion has become a huge part of the website. I gravitate toward stripes, sparkles, navy, pink, bows, and nautical, classic style. I had fun sharing my pregnancy style as I awaited the birth of our son and I often showcase classroom fashion for my fellow educators. When I’m not in the classroom, I am on the sideline as a head cheerleading coach. It takes up an insane amount of my time, but I find it to be something that fills my heart, as I get to work with talented and kind student-athletes. I hung up the heels after my reign as Mrs. Indiana (and a Top 15 Mrs. America finish), but I made the natural switch to director. I co-directed Miss Cardinal for several years, a local preliminary to Miss Indiana and Miss America. Working with young women who demonstrate such drive, charisma, intelligence, and talent gives me so much hope for the future.
