Spicy Grapefruit Margarita How-To
Spicy margaritas are perfect for hot summer nights, breezy days at the lake, and fun get-togethers with friends. Make one today and enjoy this twist on a classic margarita with grapefruit, chili powder, and jalapeno as the stars of this cocktail.
Ingredients:
Juice from 1/2 of a grapefruit
2 ounces lime juice plus a few lime wedges
Simple syrup- sugar and water
2 ounces tequila
1 jalapeño
Chili powder
Salt
Directions:
- Add 5-6 slices of jalapeño to the tequila and refrigerate for 4-24 hours (the longer, the stronger)
- Make the simple syrup by combining 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a pot on the stove. Stir and bring to a boil. Let cool
- Wet the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and dip rim into a mixture of chili powder and salt for a spicy salted rim, then fill with crushed ice
- Combine grapefruit juice, simple syrup, lime juice, and jalapeño-infused tequila into glass. I usually add a few lime wedges and slices of jalapeño into the glass as well and muddle it a bit for added punch
- Enjoy!
