Lessons From My Dad
I’m honoring my dad, Dan Hossfeld, today by sharing some of his best life lessons:
- Finish your food or someone else will eat it
- Ohio State sucks
- Bald is beautiful
- Boxes of wine make for a great parallel parking course
- Don’t let your gas tank get too low in the winter or the gas will freeze
- Dave Matthews Band does have a few good songs
- Visors > hats
- The best way to mow the lawn is shirtless
- Naps should be 20 minutes long
- The best dessert is yellow cake with chocolate frosting
- The best way to read something is out load for all to hear
- The breakfast of champions is dessert or pancakes
- Boys should treat you right
- Kirk Herbstreit is a terrible announcer
- Ending any sentence with “man” drives the point home
- Tint your car windows
- Loving someone means driving them home to another state in the snow when they are too scared to drive themselves
- Washing your car yourself beats going through the car wash
- Saki is gross
- Wine is bets enjoyed in a plastic cup
- Backpacks are the superior luggage
- DNA doesn’t make a dad- Love, support, encouragement (and paying for your college- thanks again!) does. Only the best dad ever would pick up his life in Michigan and move to Indiana to be closer to his daughter and grandson.
Thank you for all you do, Speedy! I am lucky to call you my Dad.
